— The Role: Costume & Set Designer & Maker/ Director —
@ The Black Lab, Central Saint Martins, London
The project achieved the 1st Distinction ( top 10% ) in BA Costume Design for Performance in London College of Fashion.
This performance based on the narrative of the tragic love relationship between the English romantic poet John Keats and his fiancee Fanny Brawne. Focusing on two particular stages of their relationship when she immerses into the memories of John and when she is forced to face the truth of Keats’s death.
The love letters and poems become the key elements of the story as they played a significant role in their spiritual communication during Keats illness.
This contemporary costume-driven dance piece also focuses on the disease and how it affects the human body, both mentally and physically, thorough decay and fragmentation.
Though the material remains its period essence, there is something internal about the meaning of this story, which reflects in our current life. The sending and receiving messages has become instant today. However, a love letter is timeless, as well as love itself.
